This a well-established department which offers a variety of subjects as follows. Agriculture, business studies, Computer studies, drawing and design, home science and music education. The department is manned by ten qualified teachers and boasts of diversified teaching and learning resources. Students in form 1 and 2 take at least two technical subjects of their own choice. At form two they select one of their favorite which they study and get examined at KCSE level, therefore form three and four take at least one of the technical subjects examinable at KCSE level

Agriculture: posts one of the highest mean of 10 plus. It prepares students with appropriate practical skills which they can use outside school to add value to their lives. The subject also promotes the school’s various agricultural projects like Dairy, pig farming and general farm projects which are income generating. The subject is handled by four competent teachers, the school principal Mr.Muthee among them. The school is currently holding a trophy of school with most income generating project, agriculture being the major one.

Computer studies a functional subject handled by a very committed teacher who also does a variety of other duties apart from teaching computer studies like, generating the school time table, school based exam analysis, end user support to other staffs on ICT related matters, KNEC exams online registration and any other ICT related duties. We have a well-equipped computer laboratory.

Music Education A well established and examinable subject that the school has been offering since 1990. The subject is handled by a teacher with vast experience who is also KNEC’S examiners in music and also heads the technical and applied sciences department. The subject has posted good results over the years. The music teacher also trains music as a co-curricular activity to the school choir which for years has managed to perform up to national level of the Kenya music festival. This includes year 2015 where the school attained position two in class 1118J and position four in class 314 boys choir held in Aga Khan Hall Kisumu. The school choir also qualified to perform in three items during the 2016 Kenya music festival at Kasarani Nairobi.

On behalf of the technical and applied Sciences, I thank the Administration for its unwavering support for the department and very keen supervision and management. I further thank all teachers in the department for the team working, harmony and co-operation and taking full responsibility individually even without official work schedules. lastly I call upon all members to dedicate their intellect, ability and initiative to better the department. long live the department.
